Something Of Sheila's
Finished around the top with a scalloped edging. We will soon be launching our website in full where we will have links to where we are selling, what we are making, how to make it and how to keep upto date with The Hook and Needle Company. Follow us on Twitter for our most upto date information.
My Next Creation
I have decided to do it in a wide rib using the treble crochet stitch, two front post, two back posts. I am using a size 5.5 needle. I decided to do this stitch with this needle as it will add stretch to the piece. The pockets at the end will be created by simply turning up the ends. I will keep you updated as to how it is going...

I will also be involved in stalls and craft fairs throughout Cheshire. So how will people know of me? Well there are a lots of ways now of getting yourself 'out there' such as Facebook, Twitter, Linked In, You Tube, Blogging and more, all of which I will explore. So there is still a lot of work to do yet but very exciting!

Starting out and finding your feet
So you've bought your first hook, your ball of wool and you're ready to go, so where do you find your patterns?
Well I bought the books, read the internet and watched the videos. I then started to find my own comfort - the way I liked to learn, the size of needle and wool and what I liked to create. I found watching videos on YouTube best, as reading the information could sometimes be confusing if you don't know the terminology correctly or if you don't know the origin of the material as the UK and USA have the same terminology for crochet, but they actually mean different things. I quite quickly realised that hats where more difficult than a scarf say as it requires counting and markers. I also realised that until you are comfortable and found your tension, something that's a pair, handwarmers for instant, may dishearten you as you may create a pair that aren't the same size.
You will, however, settle in and find your tension pretty quick.
A Sneak Preview
This is a girls hat I crocheted which will give you an idea of the kind of items we will be creating, cute uh?
